Privacy notice
Someone Now acts as the data controller for information submitted to this marketplace. This notice explains what we collect and why.
Information we collect
Customers provide job details, postcode, photos, name, email and telephone number. Tradespeople provide account, business, contact, coverage and verification information. We also keep lead claims, payments, acceptance records, support messages and basic security logs.
How we use it
We use information to operate job matching, protect contact details, verify trades, prevent misuse, provide support, maintain records and meet legal obligations. The usual lawful bases are taking steps to provide the requested service, performing our contract, legitimate interests in running a safe marketplace, consent where specifically requested, and legal obligation.
Who receives it
A customer’s contact details are shared only after an approved tradesperson unlocks that job, with a maximum of five tradespeople. Verification documents are restricted to authorised reviewers and service providers needed to store them. We may disclose information where required by law or to address fraud and safety risks.
Identity and verification documents
Identity documents are stored privately for review and are scheduled for deletion within 30 days after a verification decision unless they must be retained for an active fraud, legal or safety investigation. Insurance and qualification evidence may be retained until expiry plus a short review period.
Retention
Open job records are normally kept for up to 24 months. Support and account records are kept only as long as needed. Financial and legal records may be kept for up to six years. Records under dispute or investigation may be held longer where necessary.
International processing and security
Our technology providers may process information outside the UK. We require appropriate safeguards where applicable. We use access controls, private object storage and server-side checks, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
Cookies and marketing
The launch version uses only essential technology needed for security, sign-in and operation. We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal data. Separate consent will be requested before optional marketing where required.
Contact
Use our contact form for a privacy request or complaint. The legal operator’s service address and dedicated business email will be added before paid lead sales are enabled.
